Traino
Traino is a digital platform designed to connect users with personal training across different sports and needs. The project focused on refining the user experience and creating a scalable design system. The aim was to deliver a product that felt modern, intuitive, and consistent while supporting future development.
Problem
The existing product lacked clear user flows and a structured information architecture. Without an established design system, the interface felt inconsistent, and usability testing confirmed that users found it difficult to navigate and understand. The challenge was to create clarity and consistency without slowing down the agile pace of development.
Research
To frame the work, usability tests and interaction data were reviewed to identify points of confusion. Insights showed where users struggled to complete core tasks and highlighted the absence of a coherent design language. These findings informed both the design system and the restructuring of user journeys.
Site Mapping & Testing
Key user journeys were mapped to clarify the steps required to achieve common goals. This revealed unnecessary complexity and unclear paths, around key features of the app. Simplifying these flows made it possible to reduce friction and shorten the time to task completion.
Design system
A design system was established to provide a single source of truth for both designers and developers. It included typography, spacing, and a library of reusable components. The system ensured consistency across the interface and created a framework that could scale with the product
Struggles
One difficulty was balancing speed of iteration with the need for structure. Developers needed assets quickly, while design decisions required validation through testing. The solution was to create an evolving system, starting small with core components and expanding it in parallel with user testing.
Result
The new version of Traino introduced clearer user flows, a cohesive design system, and a more intuitive interface. Navigation was simplified, interaction patterns were consistent, and usability tests showed higher success rates and fewer drop-offs.
Impact
The platform is now positioned for long-term growth, with a foundation that supports both user needs and developer workflows. Improved clarity and consistency make Traino easier to use, while the design system provides stability as new features are added.
